I love finding photos from my home city of Hamburg, like this one of a Hamburg mum with her baby.💗 Perhaps I've already met their descendants in the streets of Hamburg?

If you saw my reel from this week, you recognise this woman. She was one of the girlfriends from the confirmation photo from Verden, Germany. I'm obsessed with her blouse😍🤩

"A Happy New Year"

It's been a lovely summer this year, many sunny days☀️⛱ Looks like August 1929 was nice and sunny too.

"Glück auf!" A souvenir cabinet card from the salt mines of Berchtesgaden in Bavaria. The mines opened for the public as a tourist attraction in 1880. And the inn keepers and hotel owners around the mines saw this as a business opportunity to have their ads printed on the back of these souvenir photos that tourists brought home with them to spread the word of mouth.

BLOGGED Farmer and land owner John Legus Hunt from Cambridge, New York, was born in February 1818. His mother died when he was almost 3, and he and his brother were brought up by his maternal grandparents, the Skellies. John himself became a father to 13 children! After his first wife Sarah née Edie passed away in 1861 at the age of 38, he married Mary Antonine née Gallaway in 1864 and had a bunch of children with her, the youngest one at the age of 60! In his will, which can be seen on Ancestry, he distributed his property equally between his many children. He passed away in 1893 in Cambridge where he had lived his whole life.
